Why did you decide to have a boudoir photography session?
I have spent most of my life at odds with my body. After I turned 35 I decided I needed to embrace my curves and celebrate the things that make me unique. I chose to do this to help give me a confidence boost.
Why did you choose TAIT for your boudoir shoot?
I did an internet search and liked Erica’s images and style. I also loved the testimonials and how many women did this for the same reason I did.
How did you prepare?
I chose a couple of outfits that made me feel good and one that took me outside my comfort zone. I tried to get a lot of rest. The week before I ate healthy and upped my exercise, not because I thought I’d loose weight, but because it helped me feel good from the inside.
Are your boudoir photos a gift for you or someone else?
I was going to give them to someone, but we broke up. Instead of canceling I chose to go through with this for me and I am glad that I did.
How was your boudoir photography experience?
Erica was incredibly professional and very sweet. She has a great eye and knows how to direct a nervous and inexperienced “model” so that you achieve flattering poses.
How do you feel about your boudoir photos?
I am very happy and pleasantly surprised at how nice some of them came out. The images I love the most are the ones where I am smiling – I never knew I had such a nice smile and now I plan to smile a lot more.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
As someone who struggled with body image issues I was surprised at how I was able to see the lovely aspects of the images instead of focusing on how chunky my arms look or seeing only double chins. For the first time in a while I was able to look at pictures of myself and think wow, I am pretty.
Why should other women do a boudoir session?
I think every woman needs to embrace their sensual and sexy side at some point in their life. We spend so much time focusing on our flaws that sometimes we loose sight of the fact that everyone has something beautiful that needs to be shared and celebrated.
