Organic Airbrush Spray Tanning in Calgary

Just like the Jane Iredale all-mineral makeup brand that we choose for the studio because of its safe and is a natural skincare makeup. For our tanning we chose an organic solution that is in line with our philosophy that safer cosmetics are better for you & your body. Not only are they safer, the products we work with are of the highest quality mineral and organic brands available today so there is no sacrifice of quality for safety.

Our organic tanner is made from a brown-sugar solution derived from organic apples. The brown sugar base ensures a golden brown color eliminating all possibilities for an orange tone. Most cheaper tanners contain beet or carrot extract in which the orange tone and unpleasant scent come from from. Our Lavish tan does not make you orange at all, and smells just like sweet brown sugar!

We also use the faster drying time solution standard so you don’t have to pay extra for a faster setting product. This will enable you to be able to shower more quickly afterwards, such as 2-3 hours after your spray rather than waiting 8-10 hours as required for other standard tanners.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHY GET A TAN?
Tanning can make you look thinner, and it can make you look beach-ready without having to absorb up all those harmful UVA/UVB rays from the sun that cause premature aging, skin damage, and serious skin cancers. What’s also great about getting a airbrush tan is that even if you are not wanting to go too dark, the tan conceals problem areas like spider & varicose veins, stretch marks, cellulite, body acne, and other skin discolorations and will leave you with a wonderful glow to your skin. Our applications are perfectly done by a real person and not a machine. This ensures proper and even coverage of your skin customized to your desired look. Our organic tanning solution is paraben free and Ecocert organic.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
The tan will last from 8-12 days. The amount of physical activity, care, and bathing practices may affect the longevity of the tan. To extend the life of your tan, avoid hot tubs and chlorinated pools for a few days after the tan. You need to exfoliate before getting a tan, but afterwards do not exfoliate and only use gentle soaps that are not abrasive to your skin. Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated after your tan.

WHAT IF I HAVE FAIR SKIN COLOR?
The organic tan solution will react naturally with each specific skin tone. The technician will apply an amount that will achieve the amount of tone that you have specified.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY TAN?
– Do not shower until after the recommend time period has elapsed
– Moisturize using a oil-free lotion twice daily as keeping your skin moisturized will ensure an even flawless fade
– Avoid chlorinated jacuzzis, saunas, and steam rooms shortly after getting your tan

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TAN?
Thoroughly exfoliate and shave prior to your appointment. It is really important to remove and dead skin cells thus revealing smooth new skin that the tan will adhere to. For exfoliation you can use sea salts, or a rough towel. Do not wear any moisturizers, deodorants, or makeup prior to your spray. These cosmetics will create a barrier that does not enable the tanning solution to reach your try skin. If you plan on waxing during the timeframe that you will be tanning, be sure to wax first before tanning. Waxing can remove then color of the tan from your skin if done afterward. Please bring dark colored loose fitting clothing to leave in (such as sweatpants or a skirt and a T-shirt).

WHAT IS A DOUBLE TAN?
A double tan is a multi layered airbrush application for super dark results. This options is popular for swimwear and body building competitions.

WHAT IS THE TANNING PROCEDURE?
After discussing the look you want with Christina, the tans are done in complete privacy in our studio. Please tie your hair back and remove your jewelry. The tanning technician (Christina) will give you a hair net to cover your hair. She will also offer disposable underwear if you would like them. We do find these “one-size-fits-all” panties don’t fit most people well. We would advise that you bring our own panty or swimwear bottom (your choice of thong or brief) to wear that fits you perfectly. This will also make for better tan lines. The underwear/bottom will get a bit of color on in it but should come out in the wash but we would still recommend that you choose an older underwear that you will use again as your “tanning panties”. Otherwise if you don’t bring your own underwear and still want to be covered, then we have the disposable panties an hand. For your top you can wear a bra, bandeau, or pasties, or nothing. Some clients tan fully nude, but it is up to you so please be comfortable and wear what you would like for your tanning. Once you are ready to get started you will take most of your clothing off only leaving what you would comfortable tanning in and being seen by the technician.

I got my first spray tan with Shannon at the studio and it was an amazing experience. it was a wonderfully private and personalized service. The results are amazing and I don’t look orange at all. I love that the spray is organic, it was what really made me comfortable to start tanning. Thanks again Shannon!!
