Virgin 98.5 Morning Show with Marc, Dani & Fuzzy

This past Wednesday morning I was “on air” at the Morning Show with Marc, Dani & Fuzzy on Virgin Radio 98.5 and was so excited to be a part of the show! The radio conversation was in anticipation of Dani’s boudoir session that I will be photographing this weekend at my studio in Inglewood. I’m really looking forward to the session. Dani said she is nervous about doing her boudoir photos (as is normal), but I was so nervous going on the radio! Well they were great hosts at Virgin 98.5 and made me feel at ease, which is my aim with all of the boudoir sessions so I can return the favour.

A’s Boudoir Experience | Calgary Boudoir Photography

What made you want to have a boudoir photo session?
I came across Erica’s website and went through her pictures and decided it would be a lot of fun and a great self-esteem booster to do the boudoir photo session.

How did you prepare for the session?
My husband and I talked about it, and went through some clothes I already had and decided we would buy one new piece so we went shopping. I also browsed other lingerie websites for ideas.

Have you given your husband the images yet, what did he think?
When I received my email we looked at the pictures together, he was super excited.

What did you think of the experience of having a boudoir session?
It was awesome, Erica was super fun and the make-up helped ease the nerves.

How do you feel about your images?
I love them, I’m so happy I decided to do this for myself.

Which images are your favourites?
I enjoyed the ones against the mirror, they are fun and sexy. I also really enjoy the bra and panties because I was super nervous about them but they turned out awesome.

Is there any other info or interesting story about your boudoir photography experience?
I had a great time and I’ll be sharing my experience for a long time to come. Thanks again for the beautiful pictures and the great boost of confidence.

What made you want to have images done?
I wanted to have my images done for my boyfriend. I thought it would be a very cool gift for him and I was right.

How did you prepare for the boudoir photo shoot?
I got a pedicure. I knew that I was going to get my hair and makeup done – which I would strongly recommend for anyone who wants to do this – she did a much better job than I ever could have. I also went to a lingerie shop and had an employee help me pick out flattering outfits.

Who are the images for?
The love of my life.

Have you given your partner the images yet, what did he think?
I did and he was beyond flattered that I wanted to do this for him. It blew him away. I don’t think I could have come up with a better gift for him, he absolutely loved it.

What did you think of the experience of having a boudoir photoshoot?
It was a much better experience than I thought it would be. It’s a little intimidating having your pictures taken in such revealing clothes, but Erica is so great about it, I was comfortable right away. I am very glad I will have these photos to remember how beautiful I looked.

Which images are your favorites?
That is a hard one. I liked almost all of them, but the ones that are my favorites are the ones in my boyfriend’s dress shirt. There is something very personal and sexy about wearing your man’s shirt.

How do you feel about your images?
Very proud that I look as good as I do in the pictures.

Is there any other info or interesting story about your boudoir photography experience?
It was a lot of fun and I really didn’t think that would be how I would describe it. I was actually quite nervous about it but the makeup girl was so fun, she put me at ease and made me look great. Can’t thank her and Erica enough.

What made you want to have images done?
I wanted to give the photos to my fiance as a wedding gift and I figured if I was working so hard to get in shape for the wedding it would definitely be the best time to get them done! My wedding planner also mentioned that she had them done when she got married and thinks that every woman should experience it!

How did you prepare for the session?
I worked out at the gym, tanned and shopped for lingerie in stores and online. I also looked at Boudoir websites and Victoria Secret magazines to see different poses and outfits. It was really hard to do some of this stuff, as I wanted it to remain a secret. I had to sneak the lingerie in and out of the house and wash it when my fiance wasn’t home. And I had to make up an alibi for the night of the session as to why I was wearing so much makeup and where I was.

Who are your boudoir photos for?
My fiance. But as a bonus they will be for me too.

Have you given your fiance the images yet, what did he think? If you haven’t given them how do you think he will react?
I have not given my photos to my fiance yet – I think I will give them to him the morning of the wedding. I’m pretty sure he will think it is a great gift, as he has mentioned photos before, but didn’t think I would get them done.

What did you think of the experience of having a boudoir photo shoot?
The photos were a great experience. I have to admit I was stressed out before the session – just with all the preparation I did and the sneaking around part. And really – who actually feels comfortable trying on lingerie? So there were a few times when I questioned my choice. But Erica was very professional and did a great job!

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

Which images are your favourites?
It was so hard to choose out of the more than 100 images that Erica took! I like the lying down ones a lot, with and without my eyes closed. And I tried to choose a variety of different poses and colors for the album. I found I couldn’t just choose 10, so I ended up going with a 20 page album.

Is there any other info or interesting story about your boudoir photography experience?
I really hope these photographs stay a secret until the wedding – as it will all be worth it then! There have been at least a couple times where I’ve almost been “caught” while viewing my photos online as well. :-)

Meg is a mother of 3 boys and her story and images were also recently featured in the last edition Best Health magazine along with several other of our clients! After reading the blog post below, you can read and see more from Meg in the magazine article starting on page 150 of Best Health Magazine.

What made you want to have the images done?
About 20 years ago, I thought it would be fun to do a boudoir photo session. I really enjoyed the experience (and now wanted to do it again), I felt Erica would provide a professional, yet fun and creative photo shoot for this most recent experience.

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

How did you prepare for your boudoir session?
This gave me a good excuse to go out and purchase some beautiful lingerie that I might not normally wear. Other than that, it was just a great experience to be there.

Have you given your husband the images yet, what did he think?
It was mostly his idea to do this photo shoot. I didn’t need a whole lot of prompting though! He has seen the proofs on the internet, so he is very pleased with what’s coming his way!

What did you think of the experience of having the images done?
It’s always a little intimidating to pose half naked in front of a stranger. In a very short time however, Erica made me feel very comfortable with my body. Some of the poses might have felt a little silly at the time, but when I saw how they transferred to film, I was very delighted with the results. I think it’s very empowering to lose oneself in front of the camera…then to see how Erica makes you look on film is to know how your partner really sees you.

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

How do you feel about your images?
We all have insecurities about our bodies..me, for sure. After seeing these pictures though…it gave me a better appreciation for how I should view myself. I am more than thrilled with results, and there isn’t really much more I can say besides that!

Calgary boudoir photographer

Which images are your favourites? I think I’m partial to the photos of me with the mirror behind me. It’s not often one gets to see how one looks from behind. Maybe I shouldn’t have worried so much! The pictures with me laying on my back are dreamy as well.

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

Is there any other info or interesting story about your experience?
I love how the pictures turned out…thanks! I can’t say I really have an interesting story yet…but who knows what will happen when I get my album. ;)

L’s Boudoir Experience | Calgary Boudoir Photography

How did you prepare for your boudoir photo shoot?
I had my fiance pick out a few of his favourite outfits and also bought some new things. On the day of my boudoir photo session, I grabbed one of his work shirts to give the session a more personal touch. Up to the session date, I was very busy and didn’t get around to tanning, but managed a pedicure and manicure. Right before my session I had the makeup artist do my hair and makeup. I loved the pampering and it was well worth it. I hardly ever wear makeup so it was nice to have someone else do it.

Calgary boudoir photographer

Who are these boudoir photos for?
My boyfriend and I got engaged in August and I wanted to give him an engagement gift that would be personal and mean something to him. Something he would look at and appreciate as much as I do my engagement ring. There couldn’t be anything more perfect than these photos. I signed up for that September and couldn’t wait!

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

Have you given your partner the images yet, what did he think?
He asked me every day after my session if the images had come in. They finally did and he couldn’t wait to see them. He thought the images were stunning. He told me he’s going to have a hard time picking out which ones he wants for an album.

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

What did you think of the whole boudoir experience?
The experience was exhilarating! I was nervous for the first few photos and after that really enjoyed every minute. I left feeling sensual, confident and like a million bucks. Erica made me feel very comfortable and I felt at ease with her through the whole experience. There were a few poses I wasn’t sure about but seeing the images of those particular ones made me feel so much better about myself. Certainly a big confidence booster.

Boudoir PhotographerBoudoir Photographer

How do you feel about your images?
When I first received the images, I opened them by myself before I let my fiance see them. I was nervous to see how they turned out. I opened them and had to do a double take. At first I thought I had received someone else’s images until I really looked and realized it was me. I couldn’t believe the beautiful woman in the images was me! I had this thought in my head at that moment that made me wonder if that’s how my fiance sees me. I felt very womanly and absolutely gorgeous. I was so excited that my images made me feel so empowered and beautiful. They will be a wonderful reminder to me whenever I feel less than stellar.

Calgary boudoir photographer

Which images are your favourites?
My favorite pictures are of the white corset where I’m lying on my back. They look very natural and really relaxed. I bought the corset as a surprise for a bridal piece to the session, since these are an engagement gift. I also love how the ones in the mirror turned out. I was a little nervous about them and was a little uncomfortable, but after seeing them, I would have done more like that! They are sexy with a hint of sassy. As art, I love the image where I am facing away from the camera resting on my hand. It looks like one of those photos you see in the galleries.

Is there any other info or interesting story about your boudoir photography experience?
I had booked my session right after we had gotten engaged in August and was planning to spend the morning sleeping in and having the day to myself. My fiance’s parents ended up coming into town that weekend and staying for a few days. I told them I had some shopping to do with a friend and headed out to my session. It was a little secret between my fiance and I that made it seem a little more special. The excitment of having this wonderful secret and getting swept up in the fun of it was a real treat. It’s a funny story to remember now looking back at it. It was a little stressful at the time figuring out logistics and a cover story.
