White Bird Cage veil for boudoir photos – not just for brides

When Miss S. from Toronto came in she told me she was obsessed with bird cage veils, and I quietly thought to myself… awesome, so am I. I have a quite a collection – anytime I find one in a store, I have to buy it. I travel to my boudoir photography marathons with a...

Vintage Boudoir Photography & The Bird Cage Veil

I love these images of Marianne. She wore the birdcage veil and I thought these images would be perfect for a vintage inspired look.
I have a black and a white birdcage veil that I bring to all my sessions that you can use if you would like a similar look for yourself.

These images are amazing!!!!!!! Are you going to WPPI? LOVE to see you!

Kate - February 18, 2010 - 8:38 am

I did some wonderful pictures with Erica wearing a black birdcage veil I had and they are some of my favorite pictures! They look great in black and white and in color. Ladies if you are booking a session with Tait Boudoir do yourselves a favor and try on a bird cage veil, you’ll be amazed how classic they look while also sexy and seductive, not to mention what great pictures Erica will take of you.

Todd Nichols - March 5, 2010 - 11:54 am

Great pictures! Love the veil! Keep up the great work!

“The end result can show you all the beauty you might not know you have.”

The title of this post is one of my favorite sentiments that I have received from a client.
As women, we are always striving for perfection. In doing so we tend to overemphasize the negative aspects of our bodies. Everyday we judge ourselves when standing too close to a mirror in poor lighting and only focus...

That statement is so true! That is my biggest motivation to one day be able to have some boudoir pics with you (I love your style). I have big self-esteem issues, thus don’t see anything good especially after 3 kids. I can take fairly good pictures of other people but nobody can, of me. Anyway, keep up the good work!!!

Erica I just wanted to say THANK YOU and my photos look Beautiful!!! I am so pleased and can’t wait to show them off!! :o )You are wonderful to work with and I would recommend you to everyone I know!

All the stories are great, it’s hard to choose! Good luck ladies.

Mary Fletcher Jones - February 14, 2010 - 3:32 pm

Those are all touching stories. I don’t know how you’ll chose. It seems almost universal that women worry so much about how they appear (being in my mid-forties and overweight, I can relate. I think one of the best things about boudoir is that it can confer on a woman the gift of self-acceptance, and even more, pride in appearance. Once you realize how beautiful you really are on the outside, which is a reflection of the love and good feelings you have on the inside, those old worries about stretch marks, wrinkles, and less-than-flat bellies start to fade. Stretch marks and wrinkles can be seen like medals or badges of honor, earned through bearing and raising children, or nurturing in other ways. Differences to be celebrated rather than airbrushed away. A few extra pounds remind us of how soft we are to hold, and how yielding and generous our natures are.

I had a great time at this boudoir session and my husband absolutely loved the album. I’m really glad I did the boudoir session for myself as well after having our son just 8 months ago.

Love love the posing and makeup on this shot. Amazing capture!

Lucy’s Boudoir Photography Experience – Calgary

Lucy had her images done in Calgary and her hair & makeup was done by Jackie Johnson.
What made you want to have boudoir photos taken?
I took some glamour shots when I was 16 that included hair and makeup with the photo shoot. It was also a milestone for me since I was turning sweet...

Love her photos, great variety.. the sheet shots are my favorite.

Mary Fletcher Jones - February 14, 2010 - 3:34 pm

I like how you worked in the polished toes! That’s a great shot (they are all nice) that you don’t see everyday. I like how they pick up the damask design of the headboard.

Indiana - February 23, 2010 - 11:58 am

Reading the interview and looking at these pictures really shows the success of the shoot. She was looking for classy and sexy and I believe you accomplished both of those. The most important part about these shoots is bringing out the natural character of the person posing. The shots are very soft and personable. Lucy will definitely be able to look back and be proud of these shots. Well done!
